Three Sigma
Standing three feet tall, Three Sigma has an open structure that is unusual in bronze sculpture. The name of the piece suggests that it is at least 3 sigma from the usual piece that you would see in bronze. The strength of the material makes such shapes possible, not easy to do without considerable warping. Three Sigma shows a slight bend, induced by the heat of casting, but it lends the extreme laterality of the piece unexpected gracefulness.
